Beginning acro course
When we start training acro, more often than not things don't work out as planned. Slack lines, large collapses, unintentional spins, riser twists, cravats, you'll see it all. It's part of the learning process. We need a foundation for recovery to keep us safe and prevent major loss in altitude.
In this course we start with the stabilized stall. Mastering this position prevents the glider from surging and shooting out in front of us making matters worse. It also keeps the glider partially inflated which helps to reduce rapid loss in altitude. With repetition and constant practice, the posture for stabilized stall will become reflexive when you sense you are in trouble.
Recovering from full spin can be learned fairly quickly. The glider loses much of it's energy and is fairly easy to restart. Getting a feel for the rotation helps to prevent complications later on when the spins become more dynamic.
Time will be spent getting used to high G-forces experienced with steep spirals. Focus will be on quick entry and exit of spiral dive in a controlled manner. After acceptable performance, you will transition to SAT.
